You are a partner-focused, hands-on, technical expert who also has the soft skills to effectively communicate and evangelize technology across an ecosystem. You also have the sales and business acumen that will allow you to position Pivotal technology and services in conjunction with large cloud providers to meet the needs of Fortune 2000 customers. Within thePivotal Global Ecosystemteam, we work with and build a trusted network of expert organizations. These partners are focused on providing services and solutions for customers. Pivotal’s growth in the market has led to partnerships with well over 150 partners across Global System Integrators, Cloud Providers, and ISVs.
You are partner focused and will spend much of your time with people in a variety of roles across your assigned partner, customers, and Pivotal. Much of this time is spent demonstrating and evangelizing Pivotal technology with the go-to-market strategy with your assigned partner. In support of this, you will also spend much time preparing for and practicing for these important interactions. You will also need to keep your technical skill set sharp by constant, self-driven, research, learning, and hands-on experience. You will work with Pivotal’s Research and Development team to drive joint engineering efforts between Pivotal and assigned cloud provider. This includes collecting feedback from customers, Pivotal sales and service teams, and your partner to help R&D prioritize work efforts.
Beyond hands-on technical skills, you will collaborate with the broader partner business development team and regional sales management to set a strategy for engaging accounts with your partner. This will involve direct engagement with the customer account teams to ensure alignment between Pivotal, partner, and customer throughout pre-sales and post-sales collaboration. You will liaise with partners on specific opportunities where PCF forms a part of a larger customer solution. You may also engage with customers directly to support a partner-identified opportunity before Pivotal account team engagement.

Must have effective communication, listening, and presentation skills as well as partner advocacy in the field
Understand partner business model and sales motions; be able to communicate this with Pivotal’s field and work with the account teams for joint customer success
Shape joint go-to-market as related to the use of Pivotal technology internal to the partner and external to joint customers
Hands-on experience with 1 or more IaaS or virtualized infrastructure providers: AWS, GCP, Azure, vSphere or OpenStack
Ability and strong desire to learn new skills and technologies; a strong self learner
Desired Skills / Experience
7-10 years of experience in postgraduate technology related work, such as Application Development or Operations in IT or Engineering, Pre-sales Engineering or as a customer-facing Consultant
Experience in a programing language: .NET (preferred), Java/Spring, Node.js, Ruby, Go, or similar.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a STEM major
Must be willing to travel up to 50%. Mostly within the continental U.S. and possibility for 1-2 weeks international travel each year.
Understanding of the software development lifecycle and the systems and tooling that support it
Prior experience in an alliance or partner role a positive
