Oracle Technical Project Manager 4 | Utilities Global Business Unit in Denver, Colorado

Manage the development and implementation process of a specific company product.

Manage the development and implementation process of a specific company product involving departmental or cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing products. Plan and direct schedules and monitor budget/spending. Monitor the project from initiation through delivery. Organize the interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget constraints. Assign and monitor work of systems analysis and program staff, providing technical support and direction.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Seven years of project management, product design or related experience preferred.

Technical Project Manager | Utilities R&D Program Management Office (PMO)

Preference for candidate based in San Francisco, CA or Arlington, VA or Pleasanton, CA

Oracle Utilities has a large amount of operational and project-based activities widely distributed across Research & Development (R&D) organization. You would be joining as Technical Program & Project Manager (TPM) focused on SaaS (Software-as-a-Service).

The Oracle Utilities R&D Program Management Office (PMO) serves as the Center of Excellence for cloud operations: lean, agile, and innovation processes and planning as well as traditional project management. Scope of the organization includes management of three major domains: (1) Technical Program Management, (2) Agile Practices and (3) R&D Business Operations.

Specifically, in this role as a Technical Program Manager, you’ll be collaborating with diverse teams on projects related to:

  • Complex organizational program and project management

  • Technology change implementation

  • Internal project management consulting


  • 5 years of experience as member in software or high-tech teams

  • 5 years of program, project and/or process management experience

  • Expertise in project management tools and methodologies

  • Technically knowledgeable in regards to SaaS

  • Proven record of collaboration with others regardless of their position in the org: Technical and Architectural contributors as well as management of all levels

  • Technical Experience a plus


  • You will be leading cross-functional teams to achieve business-critical goals while ensuring Oracle security/compliance standards are met.

  • As project / program manager, you will be managing complex projects from Initiative start to completion, including hand-off to delivery and customer managers.

  • You will use good judgement to achieve project goals and escalate quickly to ensure that project roadblocks are mitigated effectively.

  • As part of the project team, you will use your skill-set and expertise in project management including organizing cross-team activities, risk anticipation and mitigation management.

  • As part of the project team, you will use your technical understanding to identify tasks, gaps, issues and risks that can be technical in nature.

  • For complex projects, you are able track progress and communicate status in a way that is easy to understand for stakeholders and team members.

  • You can communicate the costs and benefits of various projects as part of prioritizing workload.

  • You will be working with the larger PMO team to identify areas of opportunity in the organization, and then implementing projects to improve internal efficiency.
