DescriptionTitle: Technician - OperationsJob Type: PermanentLocation: Denver-CORole:The successful candidate must support customer tasks via ticket requests andperform external/internal equipment installations. Monitor facility systemsfor critical alarms and perform facility/security walkthroughs. Work withService Management Executives for sales and customer audits. In thisOperations role, one will interface directly with the customer daily andcollaborate with internal teams to complete projects. This is an active,hands-on role which relies on problem solving capabilities and self-reliance.Responsibilities:Assist with technology installation to include securing of cabinets, rackingof equipment, and cabling of devices.Assist with building Windows-based operating systems and device configuration.Provide on-site customer service to clients while working within the datacenter.Understand and follow defined standard operating procedures.Respond to and update tickets in accordance with department procedures.Issue problem, change, and request tickets when necessary for both SungardAS' infrastructure and customer environments.Perform data center walk-through during each shift to check for abnormalconditions, such as unlocked cabinets/cages, unlocked equipment,audible/visual alarms on equipment.Must work holidays and weekends that fall on scheduled shifts, have theflexibility to work extra shifts as required by management.Understand the facility support systems (power, HVAC, firedetection/suppression, security); respond to alarms in accordance withdepartment procedures.When appropriate, escalate issues quickly and efficiently in order to solveproblems within Sungard AS' Service Level Agreement requirements.Work supportively with colleagues, operating in a collegiate manner at alltimes and in line with the Company's values.Profile:Previous Data Center Experience. Desirable.Basic Computer and Network Knowledge. Essential.Proficiency with Microsoft Tools Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).Essential.Experience with Microsoft OS platforms. Essential.Experience with physical configuration and maintenance/troubleshooting ofEnterprise level hardware. Essential.Cable Termination and Testing Experience. Desirable.Flexibility with working shifts/hours/days as needed. Essential.Proven ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.Essential.Willing to cross train at other locations as needed. Essential.Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment. Essential.Possess a strong customer service attitude and interpersonal skills.Essential.Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Essential.Able to lift 50 lbs. Essential.Must have physical ability to maneuver in narrow aisles toinstall/troubleshoot equipment, ability to climb a ladder and crawl underraised floor to install/troubleshoot cabling.
