The purpose of this job is to provide support to the user community regarding OnBase and Pega workflow systems. Support for the user community includes troubleshooting system issues, designing and implementing new workflow solutions, and developing API integrations.
Performs technical triage on system applications to diagnose root cause of issues and identify and / or implement resolutions within the Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Designs and develops interim program solutions that will support mass transaction functionality not currently programmed on the system.
Performs programming changes to existing software applications to repair defects.
Acts as a technical specialist and liaison between development teams to report software application defects and report severity / impact of defects.
Collaborates with colleagues regarding development best practices for application issues.
Advises and works on strategic initiatives to mitigate and / or alleviate application issues, including opportunities for process automation.
Operates independently with some latitude for un-reviewed actions or decisions.
Completes other duties as assigned.
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field (Information Systems, Mathematics, Software Engineering
Certification in one of the following: Pega System Architect, Pega Senior System-Architect, or Pega Lead System Architect preferred.

Possess advanced knowledge and understanding of:
relational database design
multi-tier system architecture
6 years programming experience (any language)
2 years IT in financial or other highly regulated industry
2 years API web services experience (SOAP or REST)
2 years providing technical support of an enterprise software system in a customer-facing role

This position has a direct impact on transactions where financial risk is involved regarding customer accounts and gains or losses from market fluctuations. If responsibilities are not performed in a timely manner and with the utmost caution, the company may be exposed to significant costs.
This position requires excellent working relationships with all levels of all departments within Great West Financial / Empower Retirement.
Exposure to external clients is rare, but may occur with a complex technical situation.
