Comcast Big Data Engineering Analyst in Englewood, Colorado

Our team, Product Analytics & Behavior Science team (PABS) consists of engineers, scientists, and analysts. We demonstrate petabytes of data and the latest in big data technologies such as AWS services and software like Databricks Spark, AWS Athena/S3, and Google’s Looker BI platform to process and lead billions of events every day. We make data and insights on Comcast’s products and services accessible to product and business owners so that they can make data driven decisions for millions of Comcast customers! PABS is looking for “full-stack” big data engineer/analyst to help build out our data platform for the next generation of Xfinity products. A successful candidate will wear many hats and is encouraged to quickly prototype and build data pipelines, models, and visualizations.
Architect and build data pipelines for both real-time telemetry and data warehousing.
Build or implement solutions for metadata management.
Perform exploratory data analysis on existing products and datasets (both structured and unstructured)
Develop data models and mappings
Define metrics for tracking how customers are interacting with products and service
Maintain awareness and curiosity in trends for our usage data and KPIs
Maintain documentation solutions that enable business partners to get the most out of our self-serve reporting tools
Evaluate the efficiency of software/product releases and conduct read outs on results
Minimum of a Bachelor’s of Science in any related fields (Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics...)
Minimum of 5 years of experience data and analytics and 2 years of experience with big data technology stacks
Spark, Python, Scala, Java, SQL
BI Tool (Looker, Tableau, Qlik) Proficiency
Experience or knowledge of data warehousing methodologies
You’re comfortable working in a variety of tech stacks
You're self-motivated, results-oriented and quick to take action, while also open to new insights. You recognize when you're wrong and move past your own mistakes
You enjoy staying ahead of with technology and continually strive to be better at your craft
Understanding the differences between NoSQL and relational data access patterns
Familiar with Kafka/Kinesis and streaming pipelines, Presto/Athena, S3 object storage and Cloud Architecture
Deep Spark understanding
