The Enterprise Data Strategy team within Global Data & Analytics (GD&A) is built to help Cigna drive the improvement in the accessibility and quality of our data assets and tools, and allow us to deliver data solutions faster than we do today. Our ultimate goal is to ensure Cigna’s ability to grow is unconstrained by any limitations of our data. The Cigna Enterprise Data Strategy team is comprised of business and technical teams spanning Customer, Provider, Client (Buyer) and Intermediary (Producer) Data Domains as well as foundational enterprise data teams. The Client (Buyer) and Intermediary (Producer) Data Domains team establishes client and producer data strategies through an Enterprise lens and ensures roadmap delivery for all enterprise client and producer data domain initiatives.
The Enterprise Data Governance (Data Stewardship) Advisor – Client & Producer Data Domains requires a candidate with a strong data governance background who understands data – proper use/consumption, quality, policies, and stewardship. In this highly visible role you will partner with business and technical subject matter experts to ensure standardization of operational information and execution of enterprise-wide data governance policies and procedures are defined and implemented for each data domain.
Lead a cross-organizational team of subject matter experts to evolve Enterprise Data Standards and Policies, including:
Enterprise Standard Code Sets (ESCS)
Critical Data Elements (CDE)
Partner with Data Architects and business SMEs to create and maintain a Business Data Model (BDM) for each data domain that is aligned across the enterprise and manage Cigna's data glossary for assigned domains
Lead management, maintenance and governance of assigned data domain standards
Work collaboratively with business and IT partners across business units to implement data standards
Lead creation and approval processes of enterprise data standards and policies
Provide consultative services to agile delivery teams and ensure data governance best practices
Participate in data governance/stewardship communities of practice and represent Cigna as a member of industry workgroups Qualifications
3+ years’ experience as a Data Governance/Stewardship professional is required
2+ years’ experience with data analysis, data quality, business data modeling, and reporting
Knowledge and experience with healthcare terminology, concepts and business processes and systems, particularly those within Client and Producer data domains, is preferred
Familiarity with healthcare industry standards and regulations is preferred
Experience with SAS, SQL and Advanced Microsoft Excel skill is preferred
Experience working in Agile project management (SAFe experience a plus)
