We investigate, select, develop, and integratetechnologies and solutions that meet the needs of the company for short,medium and long term initiatives. This includes the delivery of thetechnology plan and future architecture for Voice, Video, Data,Optical, Commercial, Cloud, CPE, Network and Access.JOB SUMMARYThe Director for Infrastructure Tools and Orchestration Engineering leads ateam of engineers and architects focusing on orchestration, datacenter as acode, DNS, QA Automation, Datacenter tools, monitoring, and complexIaaS, CaaS automation and tooling at scale for Charter's networkinfrastructure. The Director oversees all activities of the staff, managesthe departmental operating, and supports team development for CharterDatacenter and NFV Architecture. Creates and maintains relationships with theinternal and external stakeholders of the business in order to establish aproductive and customer-focused culture.Plays a key role in driving the strategy, architecture, and development ofQA Automation, orchestration, datacenter as a code, and tools forCharter's datacenter infrastructure inclusive of IaaS, CaaS, Network,Lab, National, regional, edge DC, NFV, and distributed cloudarchitectures. Responsible for developing and implementing softwareengineering strategies meant for the development of technological toolchains, processes, and policies required for current and future softwaredeveloMAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance thecustomer experience.Lead and mentor team of Engineers and architects to ensure compliance andconsistency across projects.Actively participate in and/or facilitate the development of deliverables toensure changes or enhancements to existing products and processes areperformed with no negative impact to Customer, and Service QualityEnsure that the Risk Management and Product/Project/Design Reviewactivities are adequately performedMentors and guides the work of technical staff.Provides engineering support and direction for new or existing technologiesand current operational initiatives.Evaluates and consults with all levels of leadership regarding technicaloperations, strategic planning of rebuilds, network operations,dispatch, and new product development and deployment.Directs quality control programs for engineering operations and consistentoperational procedures.Reviews selections on bids for contracted projects, and providerecommendations as necessary.Directs capital budget process, executes approved budget plan.Leads and participates in succession planning.Performs other duties as requested.Reviews work plans and designs and advises on improvements.Knows, understands and follows company policy.EducationBachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field or equivalentcombination of education and related work experience.
