We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer with a Bachelor's degree inSoftware Engineering or related Engineering field and at least 10 years ofrelated experience. You'll be responsible for performing coding,debugging, testing, and troubleshooting of our systems and softwarethroughout our application development process and analyzing systemcapabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements,input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.At SNC's ISR, Aviation and Security (IAS) team we are a leading mannedand unmanned aircraft systems integrator for high-performance intelligence,surveillance and reconnaissance, and aviation systems. IAS tailors solutionsto customer cost, performance, and schedule requirements and designs toconsistently exceed expectations and provide a turnkey approach to enable ourcustomers to focus on their mission.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software andsystems that contain logical and mathematical solutionsConducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designersand/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, andutilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercialsoDetermines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolveproblems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition,programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; addsutility programs to the toolbox as neededEnsures software standards are metElicit, derive, and document software and/or system requirements to meetinternal or external customer specificationsDefine software/and or system architecture, design software modules, andproduce associated documentation per corporate or customer standardsWrite and test software modules and integrate with other software and/orhardware componentsDevelopment in C++ with linux.Testing, design, and integration of software systemsMust-haves:Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or related Engineering disciplineand at least10 years of relevant experienceProven experience working in a professional software development environmentwith best practicesAbility to rapidly work with minimal supervision on projects involving bothsmall and large teamsAbility to work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environmentThe ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance requiredPreferred:Experience designing and developing airborne imaging system command andcontrol softwareExperience with C++, Java, Python, Bash, database design and/or SQLExperience with designing and developing softwareAt Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) we deliver customer-focused technologyand best-of-breed integrations in the aerospace and defense sectors.
