SME Systems Administrator in Englewood, Colorado

We have an immediate need for a full time, Systems Administrator. TheSystem Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning,installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systemshardware and software and related infrastructure. This individual participatesin technical research and development to enable continuing innovation withinthe infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operatingsystems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizationalvaluThis individual will assist project teams with technical issues in theinitiation and planning phases. These activities include the definition ofneeds, benefits, and technical strategy; research & development withinthe project; technical analysis and design; and support of operationsstaff in executing, testing and rolling-out the solutions. Participation onprojects is focused on smoothing the transition of projects from developmentstaff to production staff by performing operations activities within theprojecInstallation1. Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware,peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. inaccordance with standards and project/operational requirements.2. Administrate infrastructure, including firewalls, databases,malware protection software, laptop and desktop computers, printers,routers, switches, phones, company mobile phones, smartphones,software deployment, security updates, and patches.3. Design and deploy networks; Maintain network servers such as fileservers, and VPN gateways.4. Upgrade and configure system software. Maintain operational,configuration, or other procedures.5. Develop and maintain installation, operational, configuration andother procedures including system standards and document as necessaryOperations1. Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resourceoptimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions asrequire2. Verify the integrity and availability of all hardware, serverresources, systems, and key processes through daily system monitoring;review system and application logs, and verify completion of scheduled jobs.3. Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.4. Complete periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.5. Contribute to and maintain system standards.6. Create, change, and delete user accounts per request.Maintenance1. Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgradeadministrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary.2. Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems andsystem data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recoverytapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site asnecessar3. Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.4. Archive and purge files as necessary.5. Maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment.Support1. Provide Tier II support per request from various constituencies.Investigate and troubleshoot issues.2. Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate andcommunicate with impacted constituencies.3. Support LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranetsystems. Maintain and monitor network and system security. Innovation1. Remain informed of currentand developing trends in Microsoft systems, solutions, and tools.Qualifications:1. Bachelor's degree in a technical major OR equivalenteducation/experience in a technical field, such as engineering or computerscience.2. At least three years of systems administration experience.3. MCSA/MCSE certifications preferred.4. Experience with VMWare
