Collective Trainer for the Fort Carson, Colorado Mission Training Complex: responsible to plan, coordinate, prepare, and conduct battle staff exercises (STAFFEX), Military Decision Making Process (MDMP) workshops, command post exercises (CPXs), staff / Tactical Command Post proficiency training, and other supporting events at the company, battalion, brigade, and division level.
The candidate shall develop home station training support packages and supporting scenarios that are relevant to the operating environment of the training unit, which will focus on the art and science of mission command.
Provide over-the-shoulder and instructor/mentor support to the training unit, company through division level, from the concept development meeting through the final After Action Reviews (AAR). Upon completion of unit training; create, compile and lead an AAR to enhance and improve the capabilities of the training unit. Able to perform duties as HICOM and/or EXCON OIC employing relevant scripted and dynamic master scenario event list injects in a fluid tactical environment and IAW unit training objectives.
Qualifications/Experience: Have a BA/BS degree (subject immaterial). Mission Command SME with experience at the battalion, brigade, and division level.
Candidate must be versed and able to train units in the Movement and Maneuver, Protection and Mission Command War Fighting Functions and the Army’s MCIS and their inter-dependencies with other WfF systems.
Responsible for digital sustainment instruction for all AMCS systems in classroom and Tactical Operations Center (TOC) environments.
Assist units in the development of training requirements and exercise training tasks for TOCs and subordinate staff war fighting functions.
Candidate must have the ability to train individuals on the Military Decision Making Process and command post functions and operations.
Must be capable of conducting IPRs to schedule and tailor unit training and forecast requirements for upcoming progressive events. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and ability to correspond and communicate with senior military leaders.Candidate must have experience in operations and training requirements at brigade or higher level; have a background in training management; possess a minimum of twelve (12) years of supervisory experience; and a thorough understanding of US Army operations. Candidate must have served previously as a battalion executive/operations officer or equivalent, a military instructor at a center of excellence, and served as a CTC Observer Controller/Trainer.
Must be MEL4 Qualified.Must possess an active Secret Security Clearance with the ability to attain a Top Secret clearance. Must be willing to travel outside Fort Carson 2-4 times/year for up to 2 weeks/trip.
Preferred qualifications include: Served as an instructor at the Maneuver or the Mission Command Center of Excellence. Previously served as a battalion commander. Possess a Top Secret SCI clearance.OIF and OEF experience. Digital Master Gunner or higher certification; Army Instructor certification and experience with other AMCS or Enabling systems, (CPOF, JBCP/JCR, MTS, AFATDS, JADOCS, CIDNE, TAIS, AMDWS,DCGS-A, etc) and simulations systems or Army Low Overhead Tactical Trainers (ALOTT) and Security +, A+ or other technical certifications a plus.
