Description Koniag Government Services is looking for a Database Administrator SQLDBA to join our team in support of a federal client located in Fort Collins,CO. Pursuant to PL 93-638, as amended, Preference will be given toqualified applicants who are a member of a Federally Recognized NativeAmerican Tribe. Essential Functions: * The SQL Server DBA will be responsible for the implementation,configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical SQL Server RDBMSsystems, to ensure the availability and consistent performance forapplications * SQL DBA ensuring SQL servers have the latest patches and updates. * Manage SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycleenvironments. * Configure and maintain database servers and processes, includingmonitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels ofperformance, availability, and security. * Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deploymentactivities after hours. * Provide technical support in solving, and correcting issues in realtime, providing problem resolution end-to-end.Position Requirements Requirements * Bachelor s degree preferred * 5+ years SQL Server Database Administration * Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization using monitoringtools. * Communication and Documentation skills for gathering requirements,documenting highly technical processes * Experience with backups, restores and recovery models * Experience working with Windows server clustering * Server and System administration including auditing security andmaking (ongoing) security changes Strong computer skills * Experience with incident ticketing systems (Remedy or ServiceNow) Working Environment and Conditions This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard officeposition and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent isrequired to stand; walk; sit; use hands to manipulate, handle, orfeel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk andhear. The work load may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods oftime. The incumbent must be able to read, perform simple math calculationsand withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must occasionally liftand/or move items that weigh up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilitiesrequired for the job include close vision, distance vision, colorvision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
