Description Koniag Government Services is seeking a Network Engineer in the FortCollins, CO area. The Network Engineer is responsible for all aspects of networkadministration. CCNA or CCNP certification are highly preferred, Ciscoexperience is a must. Essential Functions: * Perform system-level design and configuration of products, such asCisco routers, switches, ASAs, and other network devices. Support thetesting and installation of network communications systems, includingLAN/MAN/WAN systems * Monitor and respond to complex technical hardware and softwareproblems. Interfaces with vendor support service groups to ensure properescalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance * Provide support, assistance, and oversight for all informationsystems operations activities, including computer andtelecommunications/communications operations, data entry, datacontrol, LAN/MAN/WAN administration and operations support, operatingsystems programming, system security policy procedures, and/or webstrategy and * Provide input to policy level discussions regarding standards,design, budget constraints, and more. * Provide the routine analysis of all elements of the networkfacilities. Reviews network reports and logs to ensure optimal performance * Utilize software and hardware tools and identifies and diagnosescomplex problems and factors affecting network performance * Communicate effectively with other project groups, such as,Security, Windows, UNIX, and Storage teams to assist with theinstallation and troubleshooting of systems components. * Participate in regular, rotational on-call support with othernetwork team members and provides prompt service to clients and usersPosition Requirements Qualifications: The ideal Network Engineer candidate should have or be able to do thefollowing: * Bachelor s Degree * Experience supporting a high availability mostly Cisco productionnetwork * Experience configuring, maintaining, and administering Ciscorouters, switches, and/or firewalls in a large multiple data centerproduction environment * Experience supporting with network circuits, MPLS networks, andother LAN/WAN technologies * Experience supporting organization users, customers, clients,and remote sites on a mostly Cisco network. * Experience with routing protocols, such as, BGP and OSPF is preferred * Experience supporting and working with other IT departments/teamssuch as Security, Windows, UNIX, Storage, and other IT teams * Experience and ability to work on project and task assignmentsresponsibly and timely manner * Ability to troubleshoot network performance issues and analyze networktraffic using network monitoring tools, and provide capacity planningsolutions. * 5 years networking experience * Cisco CCNA/CCNP certification preferred Working Environment and Conditions This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard officeposition and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent isrequired to stand; walk; sit; use hands to manipulate, handle, orfeel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk andhear. The work load may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods oftime. The incumbent must be able to read, perform simple math calculationsand withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must occasionally liftand/or move items that weigh up to 25 lbs.
