This position is for a firmware development engineer intern. This intern will participate in multidisciplinary research and collaborate with hardware and firmware engineers in the design, development, and implementation of firmware features and tools for Mission Critical Servers.
The position includes the analysis, design, programming, debugging, modification of firmware (e.g., embedded code, BIOS), and simulation technology.
Designs limited enhancements, updates, and programming changes for portions and subsystems of firmware, embedded code, UEFI drivers, UEFI applications, BIOS/UEFI, and HW simulation environments.
Analyzes design and determines coding, programming, and integration activities required based on specific objectives and established project guidelines.
Executes and writes portions of testing plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned portion of application; identifies and debugs issues with code and suggests changes or improvements
Participates as a member of a project team to develop reliable, cost effective and high quality solutions for assigned systems portion or subsystem
Knowledge and Skills
Ability to apply analytical and problem solving skills.
General understanding of firmware and hardware design, including interactions and integrations of firmware with hardware. UEFI knowledge is a plus.
Capable of working as an individual and a member of a development team.
Strong software development skills, C or C++ programming, makefiles or equivalent required.
