Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc. is recruiting for a Records Management Specialist IV in Grand Junction, CO.

  • Receive and process records for storage, including receipt verification, data entry, and quality checking.

  • Prepare records for inactive storage, including review, appraisal, indexing, and shipment.

  • Search records holdings and respond to records retrieval requests (e.g., Freedom of Information Act, Privacy Act, Energy Employees Occupational Illness Program Act, Congressional Inquiries, Litigation, and other routine requests. Index paper and electronic records.

  • Digitize paper, microfiche, microfilm, and other records.

  • Accurately perform data entry and quality checks of specific and relevant information into Records Management databases.

  • Follow appropriate procedures and manuals governing Records Management activities and responsibilities.

  • Create and maintain electronic records and digital surrogates according to established procedures and Government regulations.

  • Protect and identify sensitive information from unauthorized disclosure according to Government regulations and guidance.

  • Identify and resolve problems related to normal job duties; suggest and implement process improvements related to position and/or department.

  • Attend required training and keep current necessary qualifications related job duties. Ensure protection of Government equipment and property.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, library science, or any scientific discipline.

  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience.

  • Certified Records Management (CRM) certification.

  • The Records Management Specialist understands the principles, concepts, and techniques in the field of managing records through all phases of their life cycle including: creation, collection, maintenance, use, and disposition.

  • Has the ability to perform complex professional tasks both independently and as a team and to analyze and develop innovative solutions to problems.

  • Has the ability to work with broad objectives, with latitude, to determine the best way to accomplish tasks.

  • Has the level of language skills, communications skills, reasoning ability, technical skills, and computer skills necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.

  • Provides superior professionalism and customer service.

  • Ability to effectively coordinate and prioritize tasks.

  • Demonstrate familiarity in managing records through all phases of their life-cycle including; creation, collection, maintenance, use, and disposition.

  • Requires analytical skills and attention to detail to verify information and ensure accurate storage and retrieval of records.

  • Excellent communication skills in dealing with a variety of individuals and customers. Ability to effectively coordinate and prioritize tasks.

  • Requires lifting of boxes/records frequently weighing 25 – 30 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem.

  • Ability to provide guidance and feedback to help others strengthen specific knowledge/skill areas.

  • Ability to obtain and appropriate the proper usage of equipment, facilities, materials, as well as personnel.

  • Ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety.

  • Ability to develop a particular skill to a predetermined standard of work performance.

  • Ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations.

  • Ability to act in a self-confident manner to facilitate completion of a work assignment or to defend a position or idea.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word.

  • Ability to communicate in writing clearly and concisely.

  • Must have excellent computer skills in creating and maintaining Excel Spreadsheets; maintaining databases, including entering, searching, and retrieving information.
