Patterson Companies, Inc. Customer Integration Lead in Greeley, Colorado


Patterson Companies, a Fortune 500 Company, is hiring a Customer Integration Lead role to join our Information Technology Group. This role will be located either at our location in Greeley, CO or Mendota Heights, MN.

The Customer Integration Lead is a newly created, customer-facing role that is responsible for system integrations with Patterson’s customers and will report to the Director, Information Technology. This role will work with Patterson’s sales and IT teams and Patterson customers’ procurement and technical teams to identify opportunities to automate manual processes and integrate systems to provide value-added services to Patterson’s customers using new and existing technology capabilities to provide reliable, scalable, and cost effective solutions.

The Customer Integration Lead will be the primary point of contact for Patterson’s sales teams and customers to engage in conversations concerning integration opportunities and challenges. The selected candidate will almost always work on strategic accounts and will be involved in initial conversations with customers as we learn how we can integrate their systems with our products.

To be successful in this role the selected individual will need to understand how to talk with customers and help identify and understand where the gaps are between the two systems. This role will also be involved in project governance, project management and will coordinate with the business and trading partners to define requirements. They will also engage Patterson IT teams to help identify solutions, gather resources and cost estimates and will be engaged throughout the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working with the business and customers to understand goals and issues, identify opportunities, gather requirements, and provide guidance

  • Working with various departments within the organization including sales, accounting, master data, and IT to coordinate project requirements and priorities

  • Assisting the business and IT in moving projects through governance, including capturing requirements and the value of the project, gathering solution options and recommendations, estimating resources, costs, and timelines, and assisting in getting projects approved and prioritized

  • Assisting in project management and identifying tasks and resources across IT, the business and the customer to ensure successful projects

  • Co-writing integration implementation guidelines for customers and defining Patterson Companies’ standard offerings for integration services, including expected timelines and service levels

  • Providing communication, documentation and training as necessary to the business users, customers, and IT support who will be impacted by integration projects

  • Performing and coordinating testing

  • Managing integration specific master data and cross references

  • Identifying and recommend enhancements to integration processes to improve reliability and performance

  • Building customer integration roadmaps for future integration capabilities with input from IT, Sales and Marketing Leadership

  • Performing other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Business; or a combination of education and experience related to EDI or Integration

  • 3+ years of experience with EDI document standards (EDI ANSI X12 documents including 850, 855, 856, and 810)

  • 3+ years of experience in SAP CRM and/or ERP – SD, FI, ABAP, IDocs - in the areas of implementation, enhancement and/or production support of EDI

  • Good understanding of EDI and Integration concepts of collecting, transforming, exchanging & consuming data

  • Good understanding of common wholesale distribution business processes within Order to Cash and Procure to Pay

  • Great customer service skills

  • Ability to work with little supervision while being accountable for individual and team results

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Strong ability to grasp technical concepts quickly and independently

  • Travel domestically up to 25%

Desired Qualifications

  • Prefer experience working with SAP Process Integration or SAP Process Orchestration systems and/or support teams

  • Prefer experience working with Ariba, Coupa, other other supply networks

  • Prefer experience with Punchout Website or Catalog

  • Understanding of business processes within healthcare practice management
