The Network Engineering team is responsible for theimplementation of approved network architecture and designs. Under limitedsupervision, the NE II assists in the planning, forecasting,implementation and identification of resource requirements for network systemsof varying (moderate to high) complexity. As a member of the team, youwill develop and implement network enhancements while following corporatestandards. You will be sought after for recommendations for improvement andassists in staff development efforts.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for the implementation of approved network architecture anddesignsIntegrates communication architectures, topologies, hardware,software, transmission and signaling links and protocols into completenetwork configurations.Evaluates new products, performs network problem resolution.Assists in the development and documentation of technical standards andimplements approved methods of procedure.Contributes in designing corporate standards and develops network enhancementsWorks on projects/systems/issues of varying complexity surrounding networkplanning, configuration and optimization.Hands on involvement in network planning, network architecture design andengineering.Provides tier support across organizations.Leading project teams that maintain and improve network operations.Acts as a mentor to junior staffKnows, understands and follows company policy.Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.Adheres to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, asapplicable.Proactively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance thecustomer experience.BASIC / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, orrelated field and / or equivalent work experienceMinimum three (3) years of network engineering experience.Minimum two (2) years of experience with Cisco and/or Juniper.Minimum two (2) years of Data network experience.Must be able to work the following schedule: Wednesday to Saturday 1:00PM- 11:00PMADDITIONAL JOB QUALIFICATIONSIntermediate knowledge of related industry specifications and standardsIEEE, ANSI, Physical Media (Multimode Fiber, Singlemode Fiber,UTP, etc.), bridging, switching, routing, ethernet and transporttechnologies and protocolsExperience with network design, network architecture, protocols andnetwork topologyEfficient knowledge in TCP/IP and the OSI ModelIntermediate knowledge in using ticketing and software tools to support thecurrent operationsBasic network devices and basic network appliancesExperience with network designing software, such as VisioAbility to perform duties in a very fast pace environment and ability to learnnew technology quicklyPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSCisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP or CCIP)Industry and vendor specific certifications and training (Cisco,Juniper, Alcatel-Lucent, etc.)Knowledge of industry products and servicesSalaries depend on geography, experience, and education; negotiationsbegin at $61400For more information on Spectrum's benefits, please click .The Spectrum brands (including Spectrum Networks, Spectrum Enterprise andSpectrum Reach) are powered and innovated by Charter Communications.
