The Network Engineering team is responsible for theimplementation of approved network architecture and designs. The NE III leadsin the planning, forecasting, implementation and identification ofresource requirements for network systems of high complexity. As a member ofthe team, you will design and establish network enhancements while followingcorporate standards. You will be sought after for recommendations forimprovement and lead in staff development efforts.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Responsible for the implementation of approved network architecture anddesigns * Integrates communication architectures, topologies, hardware,software, transmission and signaling links and protocols into completenetwork configurations. * Evaluates new products, performs network problem resolution. * Lead network planning, network architecture design and engineering. * Designs corporate standards and develops network enhancements * Leads in the development and documentation of technical standards andimplements approved methods of procedure. * Works on one or more projects as a team leader. * Provides tier support across organizations. * Acts as a mentor to junior staff * Adheres to industry specific local, state, and federalregulations, as applicable. * Knows, understands and follows company policy. * Proactively and consistently support all efforts to simplify andenhance the customer experience. * Performs other duties as requested by supervisorBASIC / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or relatedfield, and/or equivalent work experience * Minimum six (6) years network engineering experience * Minimum four (4) years optical planning/engineering/operationsexperience * At least four (4) years of Data network experience * Accomplished written and verbal communication skillsADDITIONAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS * Advanced knowledge of Infinera * Advanced knowledge of related industry specifications and standardsIEEE, ANSI, Physical Media (Multimode Fiber, Singlemode Fiber,UTP, etc.), bridging, switching, routing, ethernet and transporttechnologies and protocols * Experience wih network design, network architecture, protocols andnetwork topology * TCP/IP and the OSI Model * Advanced knowledge in using ticketing and software tools to support thecurrent operations * Experience in etwork devices and basic network appliances * Advanced knowledge of network designing software, such as Visio * Ability to perform duties in a very fast pace environment and abilityto learn new technology quicklyPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * At least one of the following: CCNP, JNCIS, NRSII or otherapplicable certifications. * Knowledge of company products and service * Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) * Industry and vendor specific certifications and training (Cisco,Juniper, Alcatel-Lucent, etc)The Spectrum brand is powered and innovated by Charter Communications.Charter Communications reaffirms its commitment to providing equalopportunities for employment and advancement to qualified employees andapplicants.
