TheDenver Service Center is led by this NPS mission. As the central planning,design, and construction management office for the National Park Service(NPS), the Denver Service Center (DSC) provides start-to-finishproject management and delivery. We are seeking an Archives/Scanning Technician to support the effortsat the National Park Service (NPS). Responsibilities: Archives Tech (50%): * Responsible for indexing, sorting, and analyzing active andinactive documents. * Oversees the filing, retrieving, and scanning of specific documentsand collections. * Responds to customers seeking information about historical collectionsusing both manual and automatic systems. * Provides assistance with the circulation and distribution ofdocuments, publications, and other materials to other staff, agencies,and organizations. * The contractor shall create original or edit existing metadata recordsto describe reports, drawings, project information files, photos, andelectronic files. Editing includes spelling out abbreviations used in legacysystems, adding storage locations, adding accession and box numbers foroff-site storage, media type, etc. Scanning Tech (50%): * The contractor will use Xerox and Canon/OCE software including filemenu option, example editing, view, inserts, formats, graphicsmenu, printer command options, create, save files, import/exportfiles, and creation and saving of file folders to associated network orlocal drives, CD, or optical media. Other software includes Adobe productsand Microsoft Office products. * The contractor will maintain and operate Canon/OCE TDS610 and TXS4XTscanners and TDS750 and CW650 plotters * The contractor will produce electronic files of architectural orengineering current or historical drawings that meet NPS requirements and NARArequirements as supplied to the incumbent. The incumbent will handle fragilehistoric drawings or documents and scan them with appropriate techniques toensure the source material is preserved. * The incumbent will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining allbindery and Xerographic and Canon/OCE equipment. * The contractor will move customer document scans to accessible networkdrives and uses email to contact clients/customers, retrieve work orderrequests, and account information.
