DISH Field Analysis and Analytics Manager in Littleton, Colorado

DISH’s Equipment Remanufacturing team ensures the high quality condition of millions of satellite receivers and remote controls. State-of-the-art facilities in El Paso, TX, Spartanburg, SC, and Englewood, CO, use advanced diagnostic tools and automated equipment to test, refurbish and redistribute hardware to customers.

The Data Analytics Program Manager is responsible for measuring the health and effectiveness of DISH product performance and remanufacturing operations, and making data-driven recommendations for improvements.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Manage a support team that provides engineering assistance to a light production operation and a distribution operation

  • Management and reporting of product performance including field return and failure rates, customer call-in rates, installer trouble call rates..

  • Gain insights on performance of large-scale remanufacturing operations through measurements of efficiency, quality, Quality Assurance, Quality Control audits, and customer behavior.

  • Extensive data report writing and statistical analysis. Interpretation of trends, projections, and forecasts. Organization of large bodies of data.

  • Succinct communication of data's meaning and ability to communicate to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Nuanced understanding of DISH customer service operations, installation practices, remanufacturing methods, and test equipment. Interface with internal and outsource operations to drive improvements.

  • Position requires 5% - 10% travel.

  • Manage professionals and hourly technical employees.

  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this engineering team.

  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Science, Statistics or Business. Graduate degree preferred.

  • 5+ years’ experience preparing quantitative reports in technical or operational settings, preferably in a manufacturing, production, or call center setting, managing regular reports on a set deadline, as well as writing ad hoc reports on demand.

  • Knowledge of high-volume consumer electronics (i.e. set top boxes, mobile phones, tablets or internet devices), repair operations, and field installation processes is helpful.

  • Superior skills with Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, SQL (or similar data reporting tools), and statistical analysis packages are essential.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Ability to simplify and present time series and cross-sectional data.

  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical observations in mathematical, tabular, chart or diagram form and deal with multiple abstract and concrete variables.
