DISH Wireless is looking for a Head of Vendor Management to help build our 5G network across the US. The Head of Vendor Management will be accountable for overall vetting, on-boarding, and relationship management for vendors required to support DISH’s nationwide 5G network deployment. This position will lead a team of subject matter experts and be responsible for developing and maintaining a large pool of vendors to support our market teams to deliver a high performance network infrastructure. The Head of Vendor Management will have strong knowledge of the competitive landscape and use this knowledge to negotiate favorable terms with our vendors. This role will require some travel.

Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories:

  • Leadership of a diverse team of professionals located at our headquarters including resource planning, performance management, organizational development, succession planning, etc…

  • Coordinate with stakeholders across the headquarters organization and within the markets to identify and source services and products needed to support the build with a focus on quality, schedule, and cost

  • Management oversight of strategic vendor partnerships that provide real estate assets, site development services, construction materials, network equipment, utilities, etc…

  • Establish and maintain a vendor performance management system and communication plan

  • Provide contract training and guidance to stakeholders and support market teams if/when contract disputes arise

  • Overall management of multiple concurrent projects and network-related initiatives that are high profile, technically complex and unique in nature

  • Communicate status and issues at various levels of the organization in a clear and concise manner

  • Anticipate tactical challenges and develop contingency plans for controlling costs and maintaining market deployment schedules

  • Establish strong rapport within team members, support national practices that drive employee engagement and productivity

The successful Head of Vendor Management will have:

  • 10 + years Wireless Network experience; especially in wireless infrastructure and large scale programs

  • 5+ years in progressively broader manager roles, leading multiple groups, departments, and teams

  • 5+ years of site acquisition, network operation, construction experience, and budget accountability

  • The ability to thrive in a start-up environment with significant ambiguity and challenging problems inherent in building a greenfield, stand-alone 5G network, including ownership of policy development

  • Executive presence with strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree; advanced degree preferred

    Compensation: $113,400.00/Yr. - $174,000.00/Yr.
