DISH Senior Project Manager - Wireless Engineering in Littleton, Colorado

DISH intends to radically disrupt the Wireless industry landscape and is in search of a Project Manager for Systems and Tools such as our NexsysOne Wireless Deployment tool. The Project Manager will work with numerous stakeholders, customers, and executive sponsors to define, develop, test, and deploy the Systems and Tools that will facilitate our 5G Network rollout. The function is all-encompassing and must drive all aspects of the project without boundaries to create a cohesive mindset between all contributing DISH teams. Furthermore, the Project Manager must have a “team-player” mentality and be willing to take on QA and Support responsibilities as needed to ensure the overall success of the 5G Network deployment. This position will be part of an exciting team that is building a Wireless industry-leading tool which will enable DISH to build its Greenfield 5G network faster and more cost efficiently than has ever been done in the industry. This team is a key component to the success of DISH’s wireless buildout.

Primary responsibilities are as follows:

  • Manage the definition, development, implementation, deployment, and maintenance of Systems and Tools such as NexsysOne in conjunction with the vendor(s).

  • Manage all stakeholders. Use knowledge from everyone to guide product decisions. Get to know each stakeholder individually in order to meet their needs uniquely. Escalate to executive stakeholders when necessary to ensure expectations are met.

  • Work cross-functionally as a dynamic leader with dozens of teams throughout the organization to effectively guide projects from concept to deployment, removing roadblocks along the way.

  • Document all aspects of the project including requirements, workflows, risks, issues, schedule, costs, and meetings. Orchestrate the population of a knowledge repository with this documentation.

  • Serve as the key liaison and relationship manager for vendors and 3rd party providers to ensure that deliverables are on time, on budget, on scope, and according to contract.

  • Facilitate key team ceremonies such as standup, planning, demo, backlog refinement, retrospective, and release sync. Facilitate status meetings for executive leaders and stakeholders.

  • Prioritize the backlog and roadmap according to business goals and objectives while focusing on building and delivering the most value within the constraints of time and resources.

  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex production defects in the customer-facing environment. Periodically analyze the system to expose weaknesses and find ways to re-design for success

  • Develop an intimate understanding of customer needs. Engage the customer. Help the team get to know the customer. Make the customer a key part of everything we do. Effectively and appropriately relay positive and constructive feedback from the customer back to the team.

  • Be the sales and marketing member of the team, especially during the demo and stakeholder meetings. Sell our product and team to the customer.

A successful Project Manager will have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of project management experience in IT, Wireless Engineering, or Software Development

  • High energy to maintain a sense of urgency throughout the entire project lifecycle, even in times of uncertainty.

  • Dynamic personality capable of quickly establishing trust and rapport at all levels of the organization while simultaneously setting the pace for all teams (technical and non-technical) involved through strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to operate in uncertainty and adapt quickly as the environment is fast-paced and constantly evolving.

  • Strong ability to document, vet requirements, and drive quality within a project or program.

  • Ability to be on-call 24/7.

The following additional qualifications are a plus:

  • Three or more years of experience in Wireless Network Rollout, Integration, Operations, and Maintenance.

  • Experience working with NexsysOne or similar Wireless Network Deployment tools.

  • PMP or Masters Degree preferred

    Compensation: $80,000.00/Yr. - $110,000.00/Yr.
