Job Summary

Service Managers in the Wholesale organization must understand and have ownership for Legacy CenturyLink and Legacy Qwest local, national, and international services. This position initially included Legacy Qwest 14 state region of products, tariffs, processes, systems etc. Over the past years, this job has grown to include QCC (national) responsibility, as well as Legacy CenturyLink work. In addition, Centurylink Wholesale has had significant growth in our Ethernet product over the last couple of years. As such, the Service Manager has picked up the responsibility as Program Manager for Ethernet. This program management includes proactive management of all new installs (flowthrough and project managed orders), all upgrades, grooms, and maintenance issues. As a key strategic product, it is critical that our customers recognize that we are, as Program manager, their single point of contact for any and all issues as they relate to Ethernet, working to proactively improve overall performance and restore customer confidence in our service.

Job Description

  • Customer Contact: Service Management owns the overall responsibility for Wholesale Customer accounts.

  • Program/Project Management: Due to the significant growth in our Ethernet product the Service Managers have picked up the responsibility as Program Manager for Ethernet. This program management includes proactive management of all new installs, all upgrades, grooms, and all maintenance issues.

  • "Process Work: Service Management is responsible for identifying and leading efforts to alleviate process gaps.

  • "COMMUNICATIONS: EXTERNALLY - Service Managers are required to communicate on an regular basis with customers at all levels within their organizations.


Fully seasoned with typically 5+ years professional experience with a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education and experience or 2-3 years with a Master's Degree.
