Corporate Vendor Management at Charles Schwab & Co. is responsible for implementing a firm-wide, end-to-end vendor relationship management process to maximize vendor performance and value. Corporate Vendor Management identifies, mitigates, monitors, and manages vendor risk; and assists Schwab in meeting regulatory and compliance requirements.
What you’ll do:
The Senior Specialist / Manager – Data Analytics and Reporting will be responsible for supporting all operational analytical needs of the Corporate Vendor Management program, including maximizing operational dashboard creation and maintenance.
Typical responsibilities will include:
Evaluate data integrity, providing insight and guidance into departmental data governance practices;
Creating and maintaining a reporting library in various data management tools employed by Corporate Vendor Management;
Develop robust analytics and reporting around third party risk, spend, and savings;
Conduct market research on third parties outsourcing trends;
Work with each functional area with Corporate Vendor Management to develop area specific operational templates in order to create process simplicity and consistency.
Ensure end results are of the highest caliber with a quantifiable business benefit;
Create dashboards to aid leadership decision making;
Leverage data to identify areas of opportunity, methods for reduction in cycle-time and elements of departmental processes that could be more efficient;
Support the Risk and Controls team with risk analytics, research and enrollment rules;
Develop structured measurement and tracking reports that are suitable for the intended audiences;
Understand the workflows and key redesign levers and provide analytical insights that ensure appropriate and consistent KPIs and SLAs are in place for each process;
Provide additional analytics support for business decision making and act as a consultant at the program level to provide recommendations to the CVM leadership team, based on data, analysis, and business implications; and
Support other ad-hoc requests, as needed
What you have:
Detail oriented with analytical proficiency; able to navigate ambiguous situations
Bachelor’s degree required
2 – 3 years of work experience, preferably with a top-tier consulting firm, financial service firm, or strategy group at a large organization
Prior experience in financial services including experience with financial markets, products, technology and/or the fee-based investment advisory market preferred, but not required
Superior analytical skills, research capabilities and attention to detail
Experience with SQL, Tableau, Access, Ariba, Hiperos, and/or PeopleSoft preferred, but not required
Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to develop concise and effective communications tailored to specific audiences
Ability to work across several projects concurrently
Strong and demonstrated teaming skills, especially in cross-functional teams
Comfort in a dynamic and fast-moving work environment
Strong sense of urgency and proactiveness
Advanced capabilities in MS Excel and PowerPoint
