Our Opportunity:

Reporting to the Corporate Operational Risk Department, the Manager will assist in the execution of research, analysis and special projects as part of the Operational Risk Research, Exposure and Analysis team. Activities will include analysis of large losses, review of new products and services, review of new technology projects, monitoring of external media sources for potential threats to the firm, and performing special projects as needed to understand complex risk exposures.

What you’ll do:

  • Performs project administrative tasks necessary to track and disposition team assignments

  • Conducts research of various topics using both internal and external sources

  • Performs investigative tasks necessary to reconstruct historical or forward looking circumstances associated with large loss events, emerging risk exposures and special projects

  • Supports the processing of regression and other forms of process simulation to evaluate risk scenarios in support of team assignments and projects

  • Documents project results and works with area management and COR team members to understand potential decisions and actions

  • Conducts monitoring of defined external media sources and aids in the forming of risk themes and concern assessments

  • Aids in performing process reviews, mapping and deep dive analysis of risk and control weaknesses in support of special projects

What you have:

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills;

  • Strong research, data mining and organization skills;

  • Strong interpersonal skills/ability to develop relationships with peers in business units and central risk functions;

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with proven ability in interacting with senior management;

  • Self-motivated, able to bring projects and report to conclusion;

  • 3 to 5 years of transferable experience related to operational risk management, audit, investigation, paralegal or similar role;

  • Ability to incorporate and understand large sums of information from a variety of sources and recommend a course of action;

  • Independent judgment with a willingness to dig into details and ask questions
