Our Opportunity:

Charles Schwab Investment Management (CSIM) is the asset management arm of the Charles Schwab Corporation, and has over $350 billion under management in mutual funds and ETFs. Products managed include a wide variety of active and indexed equity, fixed income, and asset allocation strategies, as well as money markets funds. CSIM uses a consistent and disciplined approach to investing across all our products and seeks to develop innovative new products to meet the core investing needs of our clients.

What you’ll do:

  • Streamline and implement improvements to existing financial reporting

  • Partner with Finance team to develop financial models to help evaluate opportunities in support of strategic and competitive growth initiatives.

  • Enhance reporting capabilities to include benchmarks and exception-based reports

  • Improve critical data gathering processes to enhance forecasts, budgets and profitability reporting

  • Perform financial analysis and planning to develop strategic insights that will support decisions by Senior Management within CSIM.

  • Develop deep knowledge of CSIM business and products and become a valued thought partner with CSIM business partners and stakeholders in other areas of Schwab

  • Ensure all monthly, quarterly and annual deliverables are on time and accurate.

What you have:

  • Analytical thinking: Ability to scope and structure financial reports and develop complex financial models to answer ad hoc business questions from senior management efficiently and accurately.

  • Initiative: Strong self-starter w/excellent business judgment and ability to proactively problem solve

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Expert use of Microsoft Excel

  • A high degree of proficiency with PeopleSoft

  • Intellectually curious and highly adaptable. Possesses an ability to identify and utilize important data while recognizing and investigating flawed data.

  • An ability to follow through on ad-hoc request that may be tedious in nature

  • Bachelor’s degree required -- MBA or equivalent preferred

  • A minimum of 7+ years of related financial planning and business analysis experience

  • Financial services industry experience preferred

  • Communication: Clear and concise analyses, as well as excellent written and verbal communication

  • Strong consulting and influencing skills – prior experience working in core Financial Planning & Analysis or dedicated analysist within a business unit.
