Our Opportunity:

The Relationship Solutions Group (RSG) is responsible for business strategy, product management, process improvement and offer design for relationship-oriented investors (those investors that prefer to be served primarily through live channels). Client Development (a team within RSG) defines the requirements for the data driven digital tools that optimize client engagement and help our field staff maximize sales. While we are primarily built to serve the needs of clients in an ongoing relationship at Schwab, the team will continually assess opportunities to benefit Investor Services more holistically. Our purpose is to deliver an intuitive, innovative, and differentiated wealth management experience that drives growth and builds meaningful relationships with clients.

What you’ll do:

Client Development is responsible for:

  • Strategy - Envision the future and crystallize the near-term road map

  • Quarterback - Coordinate with business partners to execute and activate

  • Advocate - Champion on behalf of our clients and financial professionals

  • Design - Create and package client offers and experiences to drive growth

  • Evaluate - Evolve client experiences through iterative learning and measurement

  • Partner - Support client-facing employees in delivering for our clients

This role provides general high level Client Development Strategy support. More tactically however, the role plays a pivotal part in driving outcomes in the Lead Management system. Our Lead Management working team consists of partners across several organizations (Marketing, Technology, Sales, and Product). This role will identifying opportunities to improve Lead Management KPIs (Net New Assets, Revenue, Lead quality for clients and prospects) and identify business needs through data analytics and field research. Socializing these findings to the working team for prioritization will be a key to success in the role.

The role is an individual contributor role that reports to the Managing Director.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Foster a deep understanding of the existing environment and opportunities for improvement

  • Lead quantitative and qualitative information-gathering and analysis to identify insights, evaluate opportunities and inform decisions

  • Have comfort with decision making in imperfect data environments while helping to drive to improved data quality

  • Develop recommendations (based on thoughtful strategic analysis) and build business cases to support them

  • Design and execute tactical implementation plans in conjunction with key partners

  • Deliver concise, clear, and consistent messaging in large format meetings to partners with competing interests

  • Stay abreast of competitive dynamics and implications to Schwab

What you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred

  • 5+ years in product management, in-house strategy, and/or management consulting; Lead Management, Sales Support and/or Business Development is preferred

  • Expert user of PowerPoint and Excel

  • Strategic thinking with strong business judgment and analytical skills, able to problem solve as issues arise and has a comfort with ambiguity

  • Leadership and relationship-building skills, including the ability to influence and build consensus with diverse partners at all levels

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including being able to synthesize data, develop recommendations and present to senior management

  • Ability to manage multiple projects that vary in scope and complexity simultaneously

  • Curiosity, a can-do attitude and the ability to learn quickly and thrive in a complex, dynamic environment

  • Outstanding "soft" skills - including the ability to work well with a diverse range of partners
