Oracle Oracle Utilities Consulting | Project Manager in Longmont, Colorado

As a recognized authority and leading contributor, this project management professional, provides consistent innovative and high quality solution leadership. Responsible for guiding the successful implementation of non-routine and complex business solutions ensuring high quality and timely delivery within budget to the customer s satisfaction.

Analyzes business needs to help ensure Oracle s solution meets the customer s objectives by combining industry best practices and product knowledge. Effectively applies Oracle s methodologies and policies while adhering to contractual obligations, thereby minimizing Oracle s risk and exposure. Exercises judgment and business acumen in selecting methods and techniques for effective project delivery on small to medium engagements. Provides direction and mentoring to project team. Effectively influences decisions at the management level of customer organizations. Ensures deliverables are acceptable and works closely with the customer to understand and manage project expectations. Supports business development efforts by pursuing new opportunities and extensions. Collaborates with the consulting sales team by providing domain credibility. Manages the scope of medium sized projects including the recovery of remedial projects.

8-10 years of experience relevant to this position. Prior project team leadership or management experience. Demonstrated ability to follow solid project management principles. Comfortable working in a matrix management environment. Strong communication skills to deal with internal stakeholders, customers, and vendors. Product, technology or industry expertise relevant to the portfolio focus. Selling skills preferred. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience. Ability to travel as needed.

Our Consulting | Professional Services Product Implementation team has an opening for a senior project management professional who has a broad understanding of solutions and industry best practices in the utilities industry. This project management position provides consistent creative and high-quality solution leadership. Employs independent judgment in guiding highly complex activities involved in the successful implementation of an integrated business solution, ensuring project quality and timely delivery within budget to the customer’s satisfaction. Analyzes business needs to help ensure Oracle’s solution meets the customer’s objectives by combining industry best practices and product knowledge. Effectively applies Oracle’s methodologies, policies, and procedures while adhering to contractual obligations, thereby minimizing Oracle’s risk and exposure.

The Consulting Project Manager drives successful project outcomes and effectively influences decisions at the management level of customer organizations. Ensures deliverables are acceptable and works closely with the customer to understand and manage project expectations. Ability to travel as required up to 75%.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience relevant to this position including 7 years of full software project management experience

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience

  • Experience managing Oracle Utilities CC&B, MDM or C2M system implementations for clients (required) with multiple operating companies (highly desired)

  • Must have managed project budgets in excess of $10 Million Dollars

  • Utilities industry experience as an employee or consultant

  • Big-4 or similar experience (preferred)

  • Experience leading software implementations using an accelerator or solution-based approach (vs traditional requirements)

  • Experience with management of software implementation testing, including methodology and metrics

  • Excellent customer relationship acumen, including comfort interacting at the “C” level

  • A strong background in Project Management, including experience developing work-breakdown structures and project plans, most notably in Primavera (preferred) or Microsoft Project

  • Excellent client management skills and the ability to work with customers to develop and manage an implementation plan

  • Proficiency in leading projects with both Agile and Waterfall methodology

  • Exceptional escalation management skills

  • Organizational Change Management experience highly desired

  • Experience developing cost estimates for professional services engagements, as well as presenting value propositions

  • Experience creating and presenting SOWs for new and existing customers

  • Experience successfully developing and delivering presentations

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and negotiation skills

  • Consulting and project management experience in a SaaS environment is a plus

  • PMP or other Project Management certifications is a plus

  • Six Sigma certification is a plus
