As a recognized authority and leading contributor within their practice, this senior-level consulting position provides consistent high quality and innovative solution leadership to a project team. Leads the solution design and implementation aspects of engagement(s) ensuring high quality, integrated software solutions within constraints of time and budget.
Analyzes business needs to help ensure Oracle solution meets the customer s objectives by combining industry best practices, product knowledge, and business acumen. Exercises judgment and business acumen in selecting methods and techniques to deliver functional and technical solutions on non-routine and very complex aspects of applications and technology installations. Provides direction and mentoring to project teams, and effectively influences customer leadership on key decisions. Supports the business development efforts by pursuing new opportunities and extensions. Collaborates with the consulting sales team by providing domain expertise. Resolves complex customer issues by recommending and implementing solutions. Demonstrates expertise in multiple business processes across two or more product families or ability to architect and design technology solutions encompassing multiple products and make decisions based on impact across the stack.
8-10 years of experience relevant to this position including 4 years of consulting experience. Prior team leadership or management experience preferred. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience preferred. Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to build rapport with team members and clients. Strong influencing and negotiation skills. Ability to travel as needed.
This is a remote/office based position which may be performed anywhere in the United States except for within the state of Colorado.

The Oracle Utilities Global Infrastructure team is looking for an experienced and high performing Cloud Infrastructure architect. The senior OCI Infrastructure Architect plays a critical role in designing the migration of on premise infrastructure to the Oracle public cloud. The candidate will help with the company s strategic direction in selecting information technology architecture and techniques to design and implement complex solutions and automation to meet the business needs in the public cloud. The OCI Infrastructure Architect performs the necessary leadership, facilitation, analysis and design tasks related to the migration of Oracle Utilities applications, especially for accelerating and supporting cloud migrations, will set the direction for the OCI infrastructure team as well as work with security, networking and the governance team to implement new solutions. We are looking for an experienced hands-on OCI Infrastructure Architect to make intuitive high-level decisions to improve the business experience. You will see the big picture and create architectural approaches for automation design and implementation. You will be responsible for the technical direction of projects, software structure and working with the Oracle security team to any new OCI services and processes to meet security guidelines. Previous exposure to the Utilities Industry and Oracle Utilities applications (Customer Care & Billing (CC&B), Meter Data Management (MDM), Mobile Workforces Management (MWM), and Work Asset Management (WAM) is a plus, but not necessary for the role.
Responsibilities:
Communicate successfully all architectural /automation concepts and guidelines to the business and team members.
Oversee the progress of the product team to ensure alignment with the initial design.
Manage / Improve tools, responsible for maintaining and upgrading tools and establishing automation. This may include integrating tools with other development technology.
Owning the ongoing design, implementation, and management of the OCI environment, testing and implementation of new services as they become available in the OCI environment.
The building, upgrading, and maintaining the performance of the API and CLI layer between tools and the OCI console.
Documenting and creating playbooks for administrative/support actions to be used by Production Support.
Developing/growing a team of architects to manage and create automation to manage the OCI platform and own platform operations.
Collaborating with external teams within the company to solve complex problems.
Spearhead the study and evaluation of new software and new technology that can potentially be used by the business
Conduct UGBU technical training initiatives regarding Cloud technology
Design Configure and Provision IaaS and PaaS cloud components.
Develop detailed specifications including; logical and physical diagrams or blueprints, application configuration and requirements.
Train other oracle resources and guide them as per project needs.
Identify potential risk and problem areas and develop procedures that provide effective workarounds to the problem at hand.
Produce Cloud and Technical Architecture Documents to include Conceptual Technical Models, Platform, Performance, Security, Operational Requirements, Integration and Interface, and Batch Infrastructure Requirements, Training, and Disaster Recovery Plans, Performance Testing Approach, Cloud Infrastructure Designs
Technical Infrastructure Quality Assurance Reviews to include Hardware Sizing, Conceptual Solution and External Design, Interface Design, and Upgradeability.
Investigate production issues related to performance, code, infrastructure
Gives estimation of work and collaborates with project managers to estimate and plan technical work
Technical Infrastructure Implementation and Operational Transition Plan.
Works with peers and a matrix of other team members in the business unit to improve products and services delivery and to expand the capabilities of services provided to Oracle customers
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or higher, Master’s degree preferred
Ten or more years of relevant work experience
Have experience in large-scale IT implementations
Resource must have worked on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure or Amazon Web Services Cloud
Very good working experience and knowledge of Oracle cloud tools available including monitoring tools like OEM and OMC
Expert knowledge of OCI infrastructure to include object storage, virtual cloud network, firewalls, availability domains, Exadata, Kubernetes and VMs
Experience with move/deploy database and applications from on premise to OCI
Ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with team members and clients
Ability to work in a driven team environment
Ability to work to tight deadlines under pressure
Awareness of OCI, AWS, Google Cloud or Azure Oracle Cloud Infrastructure offerings
Ability to travel for 100% of assignments to any destination is a key requirement of the role
Possess Good verbal/written skills in English
OCI certified associate architect.
Even better if you have:
Five or more years of infrastructure experience, scripting with Python, Perl, KSH and Bash.
Strong networking skills with accountability for end to end delivery.
Ability to innovate new solutions strong interpersonal skills in areas such as facilitation, negotiation & the ability to work with internal and external customers.
Strong knowledge of Oracle Utilities applications such as Customer Care and Billing(CC&B), Customer 2 Meter (C2M), Meter Data Management (MDM) or Mobile Workforce Management)
Strong knowledge of Oracle Database and Utilities Applications Install, Upgrade, and Configuration
Knowledge of Oracle Database and Utilities Applications Patching
Able to perform Oracle Database and Utilities Applications Performance Tuning
Knowledge of High Availability Infrastructure Installation, Configuration, and Maintenance
Experience with
o Business Continuity Planning
o Capacity Planning
o Monitor, identify and assist in the resolution of network performance issues
o Backup and restoration of OCI components
o Oracle Database and Application Monitoring
Analyze Oracle Utilities product software notifications and updates
Administer evaluation and procurement of servers for UGBU.
Experience with providing technical assistance and troubleshooting support to developers for OCI related issues
Provide regular status reports to the Project Manager and/or Team Leader
Provide technical support/mentoring to less experienced developers and Technical Consultants
Create documentation for new and/or existing technical methodologies
Communicate regularly with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security
