JOB TITLE: Applications AdministratorDUTIES:1. Develop expertise with Montrose County applications.2. Be the subject matter expert in the configuration, administration and useof these applications.3. Provide application guidance and support to Montrose County staff in theuse of the applications within the application portfolio.4. Be the primary point person for researching new applications, issuingRFP's for new applications, coordinating the evaluation of newapplications and selecting new applications for Montrose County.5. Be the primary point person for the installation and configuration of newapplications, working closely with both the vendor, other IT staff andMontrose County department staff.6. Troubleshoot and resolve application issues, working with externalvendors, other IT staff and end users.Ability to independently research andmake appropriate contacts while problem solving.7. Responsible for planning, coordinating and facilitating the regularupgrade of the applications in the application portfolio.8. Using various software tools and scripting languages to facilitate theintegration of applications.9. Develop or assist in the creation of various application reports for endusers and County management.10. Responsible for managing helpdesk tickets that come in for applicationspecific issues that are outside the helpdesk staffs scope of responsibility.11. Develop documentation to aid the helpdesk staff in the support of the endusers and their use of applications.12. Develop documentation to aid the application users in the use of theapplications.13. Actively participates in the budget process, making requests andrecommendations for budget items to the IT Director.14. Willingness to innovate, take on new challenges and collaborate beyondfixed boundaries.15. Must have strong time management and organizational skills.16. Must attend work, as scheduled on a daily basis. Must be available toparticipate in off hours support activities and define and maintain an on-callrotation with team members for 24x7x365 coverage.17. Other related duties as assigned.SKILLS REQUIRED:1. Bachelor's degree in computer technology or related field. A combinationof education and/or related experience may be substituted for the degree ona year-for-year basis.2. Basic knowledge of experience in a technical support and/or technicaltraining environment.OTHER REQUIREMENTS:1. Must possess a valid Colorado driver's license with a satisfactorydriving record.2. Able to work evenings or weekends on an as needed basis.3. Keen attention to detail, highly self-motivated and directed.4. Willingness to continue gaining experience, knowledge and skills tocontinually develop professional leadership growth.5. Follow established organizational guidelines, rules, policies andprocedures.6.
