Join our team and thrive in a career that matters to the worldand you personally.The mission of the Global Positioning System (GPS) Operations andSustainment department within the Enterprise Ground and Operations Division isto provide world-class technical support to the operations and sustainmentfunctions for the world's premier satellite navigation and time-transfersatellite system. This individual will join a high-performing team withextensive experience throughout the dynamic history of the GPS program andwill be responsible for direct operations support for multiple blocks of GPSsatellites. This position is located at Schriever AFB in Colorado Springs, CO.The selected candidate must demonstrate effective interpersonal skills tosuccessfully interact with Aerospace peers, internal and externalcustomers, and contractors. The successful candidate should also demonstratesignificant personal initiative. Strong oral and written communication skillsare required to provide support within the following key functions:Key FunctionsProvide technical support and leadership in support of GPS mission operationsat Schriever AFB including on-orbit anomaly support and end-of-life disposalsas requiredParticipate as a Technical Advisor or Mission Planner during GPS Launch andEarly Orbit Operations (LEO) at a remote location as requiredInvestigate technical problems, assemble briefings and reports, andprovide technical data to address customer questions or concernsProvide general system engineering and integration support to GPS ControlSegment and Space Segment test and sustainment at various locationsApply mission assurance, relevant standards, policies, and practices forgovernment sustainment of an AF weapon systemWork with other Aerospace resources to assist in meeting customer needsProvide technical support to Operations Control System (OCS) sustainmentactivities, including system hardware and software upgrades and anomalyresolutions at various locationsFoster positive relationships, and work well in a fast-paced,multi-organization environmentThis position is available as an Aerospace Corporation Member of TechnicalStaff or Senior Member of Technical StaffQualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, applied mathematicsor related technical discipline from a recognized institution2 or more years of increasingly responsible and relatedengineering/scientific experienceCurrent Secret clearance or immediate ability to obtain a Secret clearance,which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain asecurity clearance which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship isrequired to obtain a security clearanceRelevant experience, training, or internship related to satellite commandand control or associated data analysisKnowledge of general satellite command and control systemsKnowledge of general Systems Engineering principlesKnowledge of software development processes and practicesRecent experience with VBA, Perl, Python, Fortran, C++, orMatlab -based analysis and code developmentKnowledge of satellite command and control ground systems operations conceptsTechnical and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently withmilitary, government, contractor and other Aerospace personnel in a highlydynamic work environmentAbility to travel domestically and occasionally support extended work hoursPreferredKnowledge of systems engineering, architecture, and reliabilityExperience synthesizing and presenting technical data clearly and conciselyAbility to work effectively as a technical advisor to the Air Force andprovide technical assessments to leadership in a highly dynamic workenvironmentEx
