The Global Positioning system Advance Control Segment (GPS OCX) program is responsible for full life cycle engineering on state of the art environmental, commercial, & sensing systems for government & commercial applications. As a Senior Ground Systems Engineer , you will provides satellite control system mission support at Schriever Air Force Base (SAFB), Colorado Springs supporting the Directed Contractor Support (DCS) during mission operations. Senior Ground Systems Engineer responsibility includes: Monitoring the system for anomalous conditions, performing front-line resolution steps, and escalation of system issues as needed through the command chain. Documenting issues in the defect system, assists system operators with defect documentation, and aids the factory team in defect resolution. Supporting system users with requests, answering questions about system capabilities, and contributes to the maturation of system usage and maintenance documentation. Providing assistance and guidance, coaching, and/or training to the factory team during integration and checkout of system sustainment activities. Required Experience, Knowledge, and/or Skills: Minimum of 6 years Systems Engineering experience Experience working real-time ground systems mission operations and sustainment activities Experience working in Linux and Windows environments Experience working embedded in a customer environment Must have an active DoD SECRET clearance Desired Skills/Knowledge: Experience in 1 or more of the following control segment capabilities: Planning and Scheduling, Command and Control, Mission Data Processing, Ground Terminals, Data Analysis and Dissemination, Data Archive and Storage Experience with SOP/ROP development and maintenance Required Education (including Major): B.S./B.A. in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) 115021
