The Security and Mission Assurance Strategic Support Unit provides discriminating support to the business to ensure success. We focus on threat identification, risk assessment, and mitigation while improving the efficiency of the business through effective governance and analysis of process, data and overall business knowledge.

Industrial Security Professional IV - Personnel Security

To provide expert level Personnel Security support to classified programs and ensure compliance of applicable program, federal, and company requirements, regulations, and policies.

What You’ll Do:

  • Oversight and management of the BATC Personnel Security program – plan departmental goals and present program needs to senior leadership such as FTE requirements; review resumes; establish and administer department policies; and coordinate interviews with TA.

  • Ensure the execution of all aspects of Personnel Security throughout a programs’ life cycle to include, but not limited to, access briefings/debriefs, visitor control, track customer required training and documentation, review and track personnel incidents.

  • Administer, monitor and manage metrics for program access requests and SAP/SCI process; Update security data, maintain databases and security files, run inquiries, provide quality control; Provide statistics for personnel security metrics. Compile metrics and provide feedback to managers regarding personnel security issues.

  • Execute, implement and enforce national, customer specific and BATC personnel security policies and procedures; Strive to achieve standardization of policies and procedures across customer base.

  • Establish and maintain onboarding program for new team members. Develop and implement Personnel Security work instructions/manual to help maintain consistency.

  • Participate in development of new business efforts; negotiate the scope of security support before and after contract signing.

  • With assistance from CPSOs, verify subcontractor DD254 and consultant documentation is on file and accurate prior to processing access requests.

  • Set team priorities and manage team members’ individual priorities; Provide mentorship and guidance to team and administer performance feedback.

  • Oversee planning and execution of self-assessments and external customer audits.

  • Verify clearance eligibility for recruiting during the pre-employment process.

  • Administer clearance/access; verify accuracy of personnel security documents prior to submission to customer. Respond to candidate questions regarding forms content and provide guidance on completion of required forms.

  • Interpret and enforce contract standards for security and various manuals and directives and ensure appropriate application.

  • Prepare and present security briefings, to include travel briefings, special access briefings and access debriefings. Ensure briefings are kept updated to reflect any changes within the organization or customer policies.

  • Participate and provide information for BATC Security Awareness, Training and Education (SATE) program.

  • Be available for team and customer inquiries during key business hours.

  • Work closely with other security disciplines such as program security and physical/technical security to ensure completion of tasks, establish and maintain appropriate lanes of responsibility, and maintain consistent policies across the enterprise.

  • Participate in cross-organization meetings and represent as Personnel Security SME.

  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Support Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

  • Perform other duties as necessary.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 10 or more years related experience.

  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.

  • Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.

Verification that your current security clearance or government customer access meets the requirement for this position will be required.

Relocation for this position is not available.
