Primary Purpose of Position:

Responsible for leading the commercial/market insights team and identifying strategic projects for Ball Beverage Packaging North and Central America. Supports developing long range objectives and strategic plans for the division by identifying and analyzing business opportunities and recommending actions.

Essential Functions:

  • Drive highly visible strategic projects, collaborating cross-functionally to structure problems, understand opportunities, and develop solutions that bring about impactful change

  • Ensures competitor actions, external business environment, and company performance are factored into market model and output it transformed into actionable insights that inform and support the strategic vision of the business.

  • Manages ongoing communication of impacts to network and Ball demand caused by can market trends, competitor intelligence, and market share developments.

  • Organize complex business problems into project structures that can be researched, analyzed, and solved. Synthesize findings and summarize a broad range of data inputs into frameworks that enable clear communication of data and insights

  • Lead data analyst team in ensuring consistency in reporting across multiple data platforms, and creating easily accessible dashboards for easy access of business stakeholders

  • Responsible for generating commercial foot print recommendations using Ball supply and demand data, market data, and future opportunities

  • Generates business cases for solving a variety of business problems and advises BPNCA management on courses of action.

  • Manages ongoing business relationships with data vendors, consultants, and selected partners.

Position Requirements:

  • Broad training in a related field usually acquired through college or graduate degree level education or work-related experience

  • Job related experience for 5 year(s) minimum

  • Experience at a major strategy, boutique strategy or Big 4 consulting firm; MBA or post-graduate degree preferred

  • Ability to persuade executive team through the creation and management of presentations/business cases, both internally and externally to drive decisions; development of insights and recommendations

  • Use storytelling skills to persuasively communicate your recommendations to senior executives and influence decisions by building consensus and mobilizing towards successful adoption

  • Excellent analytical skills, with experience using advanced analytical techniques (such as Tableau); strong hypothesis driven approach and execution skills; able to work equally well with quantitative and qualitative data sources to provide data-driven solutions

  • Research and apply critical thinking to industry trends, competitor dynamics and current events to provide relevant business insights

  • Able to balance data analysis with data visualization

  • High competency strategic thinking, and execution

  • Proven ability to challenge status quo

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks with very short timelines/deadlines

  • Ability to lead a team and manage direct reports; experience developing a team is preferred

  • Passion for improving the customer experience

  • 10% of travel
