Maxar Technologies is looking for an individual with advanced knowledge of Microsoft-based systems for a Solutions Architect role. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned Windows System Engineer with experience supporting corporate infrastructure, Cloud (AWS and/or Azure), with proficiency in Office365 and PowerShell scripting. The successful candidate will join a team of IT professionals responsible for the architecture, design, implementation, and management of critical systems within our corporate infrastructure. A strong emphasis is placed on secure architecture design and implementation as well as the use of secure management practices.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Architecting IT solutions to support and optimize business goals

  • Provide thought-leadership and architectural guidance/reviews on strategic Microsoft implementations

  • Infrastructure design and maintenance including networking, group policies, backups, monitoring, Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint, and virtualization (such as VMware or HyperV)

  • Consultation on implementation of network infrastructures consisting of servers, networking, backup and disaster recovery, software, and network devices

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5+ years hands-on technical experience with Windows Server

  • Experience with design, implementation, and management of multiple environments with components across all 7 OSI layers

  • Advanced experience with Windows 2008R2/2012 domain administration: Active Directory Services (ADS), Remote Desktop Services (RDS), Group Policy, Logon Scripts, DHCP, DNS, Printer Management, etc

  • Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, LAN/WAN, firewall rules and configuration, VPN, and other networking technologies

  • Advanced scripting skills and PowerShell scripting/Automation experience (all versions)

  • Experience with Microsoft SCCM, Two Factor Administration, ID Management, and File Server Administration

  • Ability to liaise with numerous departments, members and functional roles;

  • Ability to prioritize workflow, document processes, organize diverse material, and handle multiple competing and changing priorities

  • Ability to perform effectively, without supervision, within established time limits and ongoing deadlines as a remote employee

  • Ability to present and interact effectively and professionally while providing exceptional service, both internally and externally, at all times

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to mentor teammates

  • Willingness to strive to consistently improve, both personally and as a team, to achieve extraordinary results in customer service and technical skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certificate Services

  • Strong understanding of the architecture, design, implementation and management of all aspects of Microsoft Windows operating systems as well as both on premise and cloud based application services. These include Active Directory 2016, Azure, Exchange, Office 365, System Center and System Center Operations Manager SharePoint.

  • Solid understanding and experience of the fundamentals of IT security, including secure infrastructure design, as well as experience with security hardening practices such as those defined by the Center for Internet Security (CIS) and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST 800-53);

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; capable of writing purchase justifications, training users in complex topics, making presentations to an internal audience, and interacting positively with end users and management;

  • Monitor performance and troubleshoot alerts from commercial, and locally developed monitoring tools;

  • Hands-on experience implementing CyberArk Privileged Access Management Solutions.

  • Experience integrating PAM solutions with multiple platforms including Windows, Unix, Database Platforms, etc. required.

  • Advanced knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within technical support and Windows Administration

  • Database management MySQL, DB2 and MS SQL

  • Microsoft Exchange

  • ADFS 3.0

  • Some experience managing Linux systems and an interest to learn

  • Experience with languages like Python, Ruby, Go, Java, Node.js, C#, etc

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a computer related field

  • At least one networking, systems or security certification
