We arelooking to hire a senior perception engineer for vehicle automation, autonomy, and machine coordination.Our customerhas long been a leader in precision self-steering semi-autonomous vehicle systems and is continuing to lead in developing innovative and intelligent vehicle automation solutions. This role will be critical to developing market-leading products andsolutions;working closely with systems engineers, UI, software and firmware engineers, hardware engineers, test engineers, and product marketing.
The candidate that can develop perception components for functionally safe systems must exhibit keen attention to detail and willingness to follow strict development processes. Their work must be of the highest quality, and they must impose those high standards on the team members they work with.
Measures of Success
Design, develop and validate technical requirements, architecture, and algorithms for functionally safe vehicle perception systems.
Participate in functional safety activities (HARA, FMEDA, FMEA, FTA etc.) and represent the perception system development team in these activities.
Evaluate the functional safetyrequirements, andleverage them to help develop the perception systemFuSarequirements.
Develop conceptual and detailed designs of the perception system firmware to meet the modularity, functional safety, and interface requirements.
Inspect the developed software to ensure that it meets the compliance requirements, as per the functional safety standards, and document the results.
Develop the unit and integration tests for the software modules, as well as thefunctional safety system tests for the perception system.
Create the documentation for the architecture,designand testing of the software.
Participate in the safety certification audits as the perception softwareFuSaexpert.
Communicates effectively to ensure development goals are completed utilizing the correct process and with the necessary documentation.
Required Skills and Experience
Experience with the complete software development life cycle including requirements analysis, design, development, and implementation of functionally safe real-time embedded systems.
Mastery ofMathworkstools such as Simulink,Stateflow, Embedded Coder, Vehicle Network Toolbox, etc.
Proven experience developing systems to awell definedprocess, an international standard, or with an independent certification body.
Three or more years of experience developing embedded software modules related to lidar, radar, camera, and ultrasonic sensor processing and/or fusion algorithms.
Desired Skills and Experience
Software design and implementation using languages such as C++, Python, Java,etc
Familiarity with the Robot Operating System (ROS)
Understanding of GNSS and inertial sensor technology
Experience with source revision control and build systems experience (git,gcc, make,etc)
Ability to travel up to 10%
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or similar
