Please review the job details below.Maxar, the leading provider of earth imagery products, is seeking aSoftware Engineer to join the Catalog Team in the Product EngineeringOrganization, based in Westminster, CO.You will be part of a team that is responsible for developing geospatialapplications that facilitate discovery and access to our 100+ petabyte imagearchive. Our applications are heavily used across the globe by a wide range ofcustomers and use cases, resulting in millions of API hits daily.As a software engineer on this team, you will develop, enhance, anddeploy microservices to AWS, utilizing a serverless architecture andblue/green deploys. You will interface with both relational and NoSQLdatabases, and be responsible for the scalability of your applications. Theideal candidate will be a highly motivated engineer, eager to grow theircareer by tackling the complex issues surrounding our incredible image dataandResponsibilities:Design, develop, and improve Maxar's image product catalog systems andinterfaces in collaboration with a cross-functional team.Contribute to product vision, help set the direction of our platform, andprioritize objectives to deliver maximum value.Provide demonstrations of developed software to user and peer audiences.Minimum Requirements:Must be a U.S. Citizen and willing and able to obtain US government securityclearanceMeet one of the following education and experience combinations9 years or relevant experienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline and 5 years ofrelevant experienceMaster's degree in Computer Science or related discipline and 3 years ofrelevant experienceProficient in Python; writing composable, easily testable, andmaintainable codeExperience designing, creating, and usingRESTful APIsPreferred Qualifications:Versed with relational and NoSQL databases, and managing object storesAn appreciation for continuous integration and thorough automated testingA good understating of application security best-practicesEnjoys working in a collaborative development environment (e.g. submittingand reviewing pull requests, code reviews, paired programing, teamdesign sessions, etc.)Self-starter with great communication skills that enjoys problem solvingacross multiple products and servicesFamiliarity with continuous integration and deployment concepts and hands onexperience with tools that support rapid development and delivery.Development experience with geospatial software (e.g. GDAL/OGR,PostGIS, OGC APIs, ArcGIS, QGIS, GeoServer, OpenLayers, Leaflet, etc)AWS development and operational experience, including: Fargate/ECS,Lambda, API Gateway, S3, SNS, SQSExperience with authorization protocols such as Oauth2Expertise with application monitoring tools and improving system observabilityHands-on experience with serverless applicationHigh level of communication skillsets including UML, API documentation andinterpersonal communication with both technical and non-technical audiencesExperience supporting applications in a highly utilized production environmentwhich may include code, database and log analysis.The compensation range for this position is $89,250.00 - $148,750.00USD Annually,dependent on skills and experience.MAXAR Technologies values diversity in the workplace and is an equalopportunity/affirmative action employer.
