Catholic Funeral & Cemetery Services IT Support Specialist in Wheat Ridge, Colorado

THE POSITION:The IT Support Technician will provide computer hardware and software support for the entities of the Archdiocese of Denver. The focus of this position will be to support the technology needs of the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, St. Simeon Cemetery, and Archdiocese of Denver mortuaries.The technician will be responsible for the deployment and support of desktop hardware and software. This position may also support other areas of technology within the Archdiocese including phones, server hardware, databases, printers, audio/visual equipment and networking. This is a customer service position and the IT Support Technician will interact daily with users at the Archdiocese of Denver and help users with a variety of IT projects and issues. As part of a tight-knit team it will be important to have a can-do attitude in support of our overall business plan and ministry.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:? Provides primary software and desktop hardware support to users.? Installs, troubleshoots, and repairs personal computers, file servers, and network systems.? Installs and troubleshoots desktop printers. Works with vendor for repairs as needed.? Makes suggestions for innovations for the Archdiocese, cemeteries and mortuaries with regards to technology. Works collaboratively with the IT team to implement new technology to advance the mission of the cemeteries, mortuaries and the Archdiocese.? Suggest process improvements and implements positive changes where necessary.? Works on projects as assigned and assists with managing tasks related to technology projects.? Other technology tasks as assigned by manager.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:? Minimum of an Associate's degree in technology or relevant field preferred.? 2-5 years of experience in technology related field required.? 2-5 years of experience in customer facing field preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS:? Have a positive and supportive attitude toward the Catholic Church, her teachings, and her work.? PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:? Visual acuity both near and far.? Some travel involved.? Manual dexterity with good eye/hand coordination, good hearing, speech and the ability to operate computer and mouse, copier, fax machine, printer and telephone.? Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.? The job may require occasional evening and weekend work.

Mt. Olivet Cemetery was consecrated in 1892 and is located on the western side of the Denver Metro area in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. It is the largest cemetery in Colorado containing 392 acres. St. Simeon Cemetery was consecrated in 2004 and is located on the eastern side of the Denver Metro area in Aurora, Colorado. The Mortuary was opened in 1981 and now has two physical locations. The first is located on the grounds of Mt. Olivet Cemetery and the second is the historic Caldwell-Kirk location on N. Marion in Denver. These entities serve the Catholic Community of the Denver metro area and its various parishes, missions, and apostolates and other members of the general public regardless of their religious affiliation.
